Special Offers

As a tour or activity provider, you’re always looking for ways to attract more customers and fill up your slots.

One powerful tool that can help you achieve this is special offers. By offering discounted pricing for a limited time, you can draw in more travelers and maximize your revenue, even during slow periods.

In fact, we've observed that special offers can increase bookings by up to 25%.

Flexibility of Special Offers

The flexibility of Special Offers

Special offers are incredibly versatile and can be adapted to suit a wide range of business goals and strategies. Whether you're looking to boost sales during slow periods, encourage early bookings, or fill last-minute spots, special offers can help you achieve your objectives.

Let's dive deeper into some examples of how you can leverage the flexibility of special offers.

Early bird offers

Early-bird offers

Early bird offers are a great way to incentivize travelers to book their activities well in advance. By offering a discount for early bookings, you can attract customers who are planning their trips ahead of time. This not only helps you secure bookings early on but also gives you a clearer picture of your upcoming demand, allowing you to plan and allocate resources more effectively.

For example, let's say you run a guided city tour. You could create an early bird offer that gives customers a 15% discount if they book at least 30 days in advance. This encourages travelers to commit to your tour early, helping you gauge interest and plan accordingly.

Last minute deals

Last-minute deals

On the other hand, last-minute deals are perfect for filling unsold seats as the activity date approaches.

By offering a discount to travelers who are already in the area, you can attract customers who are looking for spontaneous activities or have flexible schedules.

For instance, imagine you have a kayaking tour that tends to have a few empty spots in the days leading up to the activity. You could create a last-minute deal that offers a 20% discount for bookings made within 48 hours from the start time of the tour. This can help you fill those remaining seats and maximize your revenue.

Targeted time slot offers

Targeted time slot offers

Using Analytics, you can identify patterns in your sales and pinpoint specific days or time slots that tend to have lower demand. With targeted time slot offers, you can create special discounts to boost bookings during these slower periods.

For example, your data shows that your cooking classes tend to have lower attendance on weekday afternoons. You could create a "Weekday Afternoon Special" that offers a 10% discount for classes booked between 2 pm and 4 pm, Monday through Friday. By making these time slots more attractive to customers, you can increase your bookings and even out your demand.

Seasonal offers

Seasonal and holiday offers

Special offers can also be used to capitalize on seasonal trends and holidays. By creating discounts tied to specific times of the year, you can attract travelers who are looking for activities during these periods.

For example, if you offer a wine-tasting tour, you could create a "Harvest Season Special" that discounts tours booked during the fall when vineyards are bustling with activity. Similarly, you could create a "Valentine's Day Discount" for couples who book your romantic sunset cruise in February.

Complete control

Complete control

One of the key benefits of our special offers feature is the level of control it gives you over your discounts. You have the flexibility to apply offers to a single activity, a selection of activities, or your entire catalog. This allows you to experiment with different offers and find the strategies that work best for your unique business.

For instance, you might find that early bird discounts work well for your multi-day hiking tours, while last-minute deals are more effective for your city sightseeing tours. With the ability to tailor your offers to specific activities, you can optimize your discounts for maximum impact.

Adapting to changes

Adapting to market changes

Being able to adapt quickly to changes in market conditions is crucial for success. Special offers give you the agility to respond to shifts in demand and capitalize on emerging trends.

Similarly, suppose you notice a dip in bookings due to unforeseen circumstances, such as travel restrictions or weather events. In that case, you can use special offers to stimulate demand and encourage bookings during these challenging times.

By leveraging the flexibility of special offers, you can adapt your pricing and promotions to stay competitive and resilient in the face of market changes.

Getting started

Getting started

Ready to start boosting your bookings with special offers?

Here's a quick overview of how to get started:

  1. Give a name to your special offer (e.g. Spring 2024 offer).
  2. Select the tour and tour option that you want the offer to be applied to. You can select more than one tour and tour option.
  3. Select the activity dates to which you want the offer to be applied.
  4. Choo the offer type.
  5. Select the days and time slots you want the offer to be applied to. By default, it applies to all the slots.
  6. Define the % discount and number of seats you want the offer to apply to. By default, it applies to all the seats.

It’s that simple! We recommend keeping your offers relatively short (no longer than 30 days) and avoiding offers that are too far in the future (more than 60 days out). Also, be sure to comply with all applicable laws and regulations when displaying prices, including showing all taxes and fees in the price you display.
